Know that your natural heart is very different from the heart of the Holy God. That is, the heart of the natural man is far, far away, and very different from the heart of God. God's heart is righteous, but Man's heart, after the first sin in the Garden of Eden, is naturally wicked (Genesis 6:5, Jeremiah 17:9).

BECAUSE OF MAN'S CORRUPT AND WICKED HEART, GOD DESTROYED MANKIND IN THE TIME OF NOAH. THE SAME SCENARIO IS NOW HAPPENING JUST BEFORE THE RETURN OF THE SON OF MAN -- JESUS CHRIST!
  • GOD saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually. (Gen 6:5 KJV)
  • The LORD regretted that He had made man on the earth, and He was grieved in His heart. (Gen 6:6 HCSB)
  • The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: WHO CAN KNOW IT?  (Jer 17:9 KJV) 
Who can know it? -- It even hides itself from itself; so that its owner does not know it. A corrupt heart is the worst enemy the fallen creature can have; it is full of evil devices, - of deceit, of folly, and abomination, and its owner knows not what is in him till it boils over, and is often past remedy before the evil is perceived. Therefore trust not in man whose purposes are continually changing, and who is actuated only by motives of self-interest. -- Adam Clarke's Commentary on the Bible

The natural wickedness of Man prompted the righteous God to destroy all mankind in the time of Noah, except Noah and his family.
  • Then the LORD said, "I will wipe off the face of the earth: man, whom I created, together with the animals, creatures that crawl, and birds of the sky--for I regret that I made them." (Gen 6:7 HCSB)
Today, generally speaking, Mankind's heart is again at the top of its corruption and wickedness status. God has decreed once again the total obliteration of Mankind in a global scale 
  • As the days of Noah were, so the coming of the Son of Man will be.  (Mat 24:37 HCSB)
  • Just as it was in the days of Noah, so it will be in the days of the Son of Man.  (Luke 17:26 HCSB)
  • For then shall be GREAT TRIBULATION, such as has not been since the beginning of the world to this time; no, nor ever shall be. And unless those days should be shortened, no flesh would be saved.  (Mat 24:21-22 MKJV) 
HOW IMPORTANT IS THE QUALITY OF YOUR HEART BEFORE GOD?
  • Who may ascend the mountain of the LORD? Who may stand in His holy place?  (Psa 24:3 HCSB)
  • The one who has clean hands and a PURE HEART, who has not set his mind on what is false, and who has not sworn deceitfully.  (Psa 24:4 HCSB)
  • Blessed are the pure in heart: for they shall see God.  (Mat 5:8 KJV)
He who is whose heart is without deceit and not influenced by unholy passions and desires. 
  • He will receive blessing from the LORD, and righteousness from the God of his salvation.  (Psa 24:5 HCSB)
