DON'T ALLOW FEASTINGS and PARTIES To Be The END-GOAL OF YOUR EFFORTS and SUCCESSES!

People today spend their time, energies, talents and abilities, to engage in their careers and businesses. What is the end goal of all these efforts of men and women? To acquire money to finance the things and activities in this world that fulfill their desires.

What is the END GOAL of all the efforts of Men? To acquire money to finance the things and activities in this world that fulfill their desires. Thus, they have their properties, entertainment, their festivals, their parties, shopping malls, travels, vacations, etc. All these activities usually involve eating, drinking, and sometimes include drugs and sexual immorality. These sensual pleasures give them fun and relationships that make them enjoy, laugh, relax, and forget the hard realities of the day.
  • It will be the same as it was in the days of Lot: People went on Eating, Drinking, Buying, Selling, Planting, Building. (Luke 17:28)
Yes, people need to "unwind" and to enjoy the fruit of their labors. But they are being misdirected, forgetting  something very important!
  • But on the day Lot left Sodom, Fire and Sulfur rained from Heaven and destroyed them all. (Luke 17:29)
  • It will be Like that on the day the Son of Man is revealed. (Luke 17:30)
  • Whoever tries to make his life secure will lose it, and whoever loses his life will preserve it. (Luke 17:33)

IS THERE SOMETHING DEADLY WRONG IN PEOPLE'S CELEBRATION OF FEASTS AND PARTIES?

We can see in the story of Purim that although the threat of genocide of the Jews started with the Feast by King Ahasuerus and Haman, the sudden turn of events and the subsequent Salvation of the Jews also started and ended with the Feasts and Banquets by Queen Esther and the Jews. It is not surprising then that the drinking party is one of the central features of the commemoration and celebration of the Purim story.

Then, we ask again the question: What is wrong with having feasts and parties?

Is there a right use of feasts and parties, with its associated Eating, Drinking, and Entertainment?
